We are looking for an External Audit Consultant
Pema Kenya, founded in 2008, is a human-rights Community Based Organization that works to champion the inclusion of gender and sexual minorities (GSMs) by providing space for advocacy, networking, and capacity building for GSMs, as well as providing society in general with needed tools and information. We do this through: reviewing policies and participating in advocacy campaigns, health promotion, security response, legal redress and economic and social empowerment.
We would like to engage a reputable audit firm to carry-out the Project audit of Pema Kenya CBO for the financial year ending June 30th 2025.
Audit objective
The objective of the Pema Kenya CBO Project audit is to obtain reasonable assurance that the financial statements reflect a true and fair view of the financial position of the Project and for the branches and subsidiaries. The audit will be performed in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and International Standards of Auditing (“ISA”).
The audit report will include an Independent Auditors Report (Opinion) on the financial statements. The audit will also include such other required schedules or analyses as Pema Kenya CBO has determined are necessary in order to ensure that program resources are being properly managed.
The auditors should assess the organization’s compliance with the provisions of the Kenyan Companies Act and the relevant applicable regulatory authorities e.g. NGO Co-ordination Board Regulations for programme offices.
Scope of work
The audit will be in conformity with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and International Standards of Auditing (“ISA”). The findings and recommendations shall include an action plan for Pema Kenya CBO organizational and accounting improvements depending on findings and its implications and shall accommodate management comments.
The audit will also include a verification of the negotiated indirect cost rate agreement (NICRA), percentage applicable to the organisation.
The deadline for submission of the proposal is: 7th July 2025 at/or before 12:00 hours East African time.
